Getting an education is an unachievable dream for many children living in poverty. We believe that all children deserve a chance to learn and thrive. Hagari works in partnership with donors, students, and their families in order to help a child’s educational dreams become a reality.

In an effort to walk with families toward KWIGIRA (self-reliant, capable, empowered), we do things a bit differently. All parents want to see their child’s educational dreams come true, but some need a little help along the way. That is where you come in!

Our class partnership program supplements the education of a group of students. We partner with families who are in the lowest income categories in Kigali and who are vulnerable to engaging in Survival Sex Work in order to provide the basics for their family.

We partner with donors and families to offer vulnerable children the opportunity to attend Inzozi Academy where the quality of education and care is higher than what they are able to afford on their own. Each student is provided with school fees, uniforms, materials, health insurance for the entire family, breakfast and lunch on school days, summer holiday programs, trainings for the parents and a family support worker to assist their family. The family contributes the amount it would cost for their child to attend a government school, while your support enables them to receive much more!

The impact your partnership has on the group of students and their families' future is immeasurable! Because of your investment in the class, not only are they able to attend a fantastic school, have daily meals, and get health insurance, but the students are also supported by a team of Hagari staff who passionately pursue solutions to serve their families. Your investment has a ripple effect from the children and their parents, to the rest of the family and into the community!

Hagari knows that education goes far beyond the classroom, and we work hand-in-hand with families to address issues of mental and physical health, support the children's literacy and numeracy, and work with the family towards financial empowerment, all the while pointing the family to a loving God, their Creator.

$43,200 a year will provide 20 students with:

School fees & uniforms for all students
Montessori materials for the class
Lunch & breakfast at school
Health insurance for families
A social worker & trainings to assist the students’ families
Summer Holiday Program

Partner with the Class of 2042

While the financial cost of an education is measurable, the impact it has on the life of a child is immeasurable. Your partnership helps vulnerable children in Rwanda get the kind of education that lets them thrive, not just get by.

But school alone isn’t enough. These kids need food to fuel their learning, a community that surrounds them with love and consistency, teachers who give them personal attention in smaller classes, a strong spiritual foundation to ground them, and room to explore and discover their own gifts and skills. Their families need support too, the kind that comes alongside them as they work toward KWIGIRA, walking out of poverty through their own strength and effort, with a community behind them every step of the way.

What it takes

The Class of 2042 partnership costs $43,200 a year, and we’re looking for a team of people to carry it together.

That covers, for 20 students:

School fees, materials, and uniforms
Breakfast and lunch on school days
Health insurance for their family
Ongoing training and support to help families build lasting stability
